Jackson and Cars

My friend, Johnny Morrow, has just issued JACKSON AND CARS, an interesting publication saluting the early auto dealers of Jackson. It’s filled with fascinating stories and a treasure trove of historic photographs. My family bought our Chevys from Dumas Milner. If you wanted a Pontiac you visited Paul Moak’s lot, and Toby Trowbridge for an Oldsmobile. During the age of making a deal on a handshake, most folks remember these names. My Grandfather, W.G Avery, is featured as the only business man involved in automobile manufacturing. I wrote the article about him and his business, including his early years with Henry Ford in Detroit. So far, copies are available at The Mayflower, Complete Flags on I-55 N, Deville Camera, Kathryn’s Steak House and Shuckers. Also at Johnny business The Room at 421 Woodrow Wilson.
